Utah Symphony | Utah Opera invites community musicians to take part in our first annual Symphony Pro-Am. Adult amateur musicians can apply online for an opportunity to play the 4th movement of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 in a side-by-side performance with Utah Symphony musicians and conductor Vladimir Kulenovic on March 29, on stage in Abravanel Hall.

WHO
Applications will be accepted January 6-27 for the following instruments:, piccolo, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, contra bassoon, French horn, trumpet, trombone, timpani, 1st and 2nd violin, viola, cello, and bass. Wind and brass players may specify a preference for chair seating (1st, 2nd, etc.); we will try to accommodate such requests.
• Applications will NOT be accepted for instruments not scored. Instruments NOT scored on this movement are tuba, harp, percussion, and keyboard.
• Musicians who have substituted for Utah Symphony musicians are ineligible for this event.
• This opportunity is offered for musicians 21 years of age and above.
HOW
USUO staff will review applications and select participants between January 27 and February 10.
By February 10, applicants who have been selected will be contacted. Accepted musicians must pay a $25 registration fee by February 24 to reserve their space in the orchestra. Music will be sent by February 27 only to those musicians who have paid the confirmation fee. All confirmed participants will receive 2 tickets to the event to share with family or friends; tickets for this event are not for sale.
