Guest Artist Blogs

After this weekend’s performance, Alban Gerhardt’s blog popped up in my Google alerts, which inspired me to add a new category to our Blog Roll: Guest Artists. Now, I’m not certain that many of our guests have blogs (in fact, I’m fairly certain that very few of them do), but for those that do, I hope making them available here will help you follow the guests that impress you after their performances with the Utah Symphony. I’ve also begun adding links to their webpages to the concert pages when they’re available (see this example).

When I started working for the Utah Symphony, I found it sad that we have all these talented artists (not to leave out the incredible talent of our own musicians), but they have almost no name recognition outside the classical music bubble. Sure, most everyone knows who Yo-Yo-Ma is, but there are other classical music “rock stars” out there and many of them perform regularly with the Utah Symphony. Hopefully through their blogs and websites you’ll get to know some of them better.
