Fireside Chat about Bernstein’s Mass
This spring for Keith’s finale concert as the Utah Symphony’s Music Director, we’ll be presenting Bernstein’s Mass. This isn’t just any concert – it will be an event that those who attend will remember for many years.
Michael Scarola will be the stage director for the event, and last month he when he was in town directing Regina for Utah Opera, he sat down with Jeff Bram (our VP of Artistic Operation) and talked a bit about the piece and what’s involved with it.
In this “Fireside Chat” about Bernstein’s Mass they discuss Michael’s history with the piece, the performance in Dallas for the anniversary of the assassination of JFK, the perceived controversy, why the piece is perfect for Salt Lake audiences, and what you’ll experience when you attend the concert this May.
