Sell Out #10!
One of the most frequent questions I get is “How is the economy impacting ticket sales at USUO?” I’m always happy to say that, at least on the ticket revenue side (which are the numbers I see), things are going great. Last night we had our ninth sold-out performance of the season, and if you weren’t there, you really missed out. I’d say that you have a chance to see The Four Seasons again tonight at BYU, but that performance sold out days ago.So, as of today we’ve sold out
- Our two opening weekend performances of Ode to Joy,
- Four of five Madame Butterfly performances,
- Our annual Halloween High-Jinks concert,
- Two December performances of Mozart’s Requiem, and now
- Two performances of The Four Seasons.
To put this in perspective, at this time last season we had sold out…zero concerts. In fact, we had our first “sell out” of the 2007-08 season in January 2008 with Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini. This isn’t to say that we’re immune from what is happening in the economy, because that certainly isn’t the case. But the fact that you are still attending our performances, and in many cases attending more frequently than in the past, shows how much the community supports us. It means a lot to everyone – both staff members and musicians – and makes us try even hard to serve the community that has built us up.Thank you.
