The Nutcracker & Utah Symphony

December 9th, 2008 by Jon Miles

The Nutcracker is a holiday traditional all over the world, and much of the music was recorded years ago by the Utah Symphony under the direction of conductor Maurice Abravanel.

I came across an article in the Orlando Sentinel today (Holiday Books for Children) that mentioned Stephanie Spinner and artist Peter Malone have put together a book version of The Nutcracker which is being sold with a 78-minute CD of Tchaikovsky’s music performed by the Utah Symphony.

Sounds like a cool gift idea and I’m glad to see these classic recordings are still being sold.

You can buy the book and CD on Amazon.com >>
